I have not posted in a while, mainly because I have had no ideas, but also law exams. Even though I am more prepared for law exams this year compared to first year I am more stressed maybe because this year actually contributes towards my final grade. Regardless, I am going to try and post as much as I can and share Ramadan with you people. So stay tuned for loads of food.
As you may have noticed I went a little M.I.A during the month of May because let's face it there's one reason and one reason only and that is EXAMS! I am more than happy to be done with my first year law exams at University and to say the least I do not miss them one bit. This year was a little different with regards to exams but also very much the same, for instance my exams were all 3 hours and 25 minutes long which was slightly terrifying but manageable as they were all spaced out rather nicely.
A little early birthday celebration for one of my friends at University. I honestly have had the best first year experience and I hold that all to the great friends I've made. Who you surround yourself with makes the biggest difference and has the biggest impact on you as a person.
May was also the month where we started fasting for Ramadan. Unlike previous Ramadans I had only 1 exam while fasting but this year was different because I was also working while fasting which has been a little difficult at times but again manageable. My best friend also baked me the tastiest cupcakes, I loved the chocolate ones with a peanut butter centre.
To commemorate finishing first year of law school, doing exams and Ramadan festivities with the added early birthday celebration I treated myself to my first ever big designer purchase from Coach. I told myself near my birthday I would buy myself something from Coach because of how much I adore their brand, I guess it came a little early.
A Sunday off work means nothing more than baking cookies and relaxing. I opted for triple chocolate chip cookies this time and they turned out great! I regret only having one after breaking my fast and wish I had one during Sehri, oh well. I have missed blogging that is for sure but I can't wait to post more, also I have a few posts planned for Eid fingers crossed I actually follow through with them.
As you may have noticed I took a month off blogging despite saying I was not not going to but just like last year exams for me are a priority hence my lack of posts. I am not going to apologise simply because there is nothing to apologise for I mean just the thought of exams stresses me out and knowing that I am now done with them fills me with pure joy!
I can't wait for this Summer simply because I just want to spend it with all my close friends and family I mean we are only a few months away from starting University. I have so many posts planned for this Summer and I cannot wait to share them with all of you so be prepared to be bombarded with a crap ton of posts.
That's all from me today but don't worry I'll be back real soon!
It's a little overwhelming to take in the fact that I've been blogging for 2 years now. Yes it's been 2 years since I took the plunge & launched my blog! I still pinch myself every once in a while when seeing the amount of people reading my blog. From France to Singapore to Germany the list is endless and I couldn't thank you guys enough for every click, every pageview and like, it means the absolute world! I've been able to collaborate and work with brands I had only dreamed about and yet there I was taking photos for them. This years been incredible not only blog-wise but in general I mean I got the grades needed for me to study Law at University and that was a huge thing for me. Here's my annual reflection and my guide to you through the months of 2016.
- January
The month I experienced a little blogging-block but thank god 2017 is already going pretty well because consistency is key! I can't wait to share with you guys all the things I have planned along with collaborations & fingers crossed even more.
- February
I was given an amazing opportunity to work with ReCover Cosmetics and review their concealer along with being able to host my very first giveaway which was a huge milestone. It was crazy to see how many of you entered too!
- March
This was definitely the month or year to be quite honest I learnt how to take proper 'flatlays' if that's the correct word to use, just better photos in general. I mean if you were to scroll right back to my first few blog posts then you'll know that I've come a far far way.
- April
One of the most stressful months, I always feel like the month before exams is a lot more stressful than the month you're actually doing your exams just because you regret not revising earlier or you regret not making notes. Anyone else or is that just me?
- May
This month last year was when I went MIA for a whole month because of exams, Ramadhan and then family matters too. Hopefully this year will be different!
- June
Another collaboration with LYDC which was really fun because I got the chance to share their colourful faux leather pouches with you guys.
- July
Eid was probably the highlight of this month as I got to spend it with wonderful company, my family! It was also the month I started doing more travel related posts which continued onto the coming months.
- August
This was the most nerve-racking month mainly because of Results day but it was also my birthday month and the month I did the most travelling which was incredible to say the least. Results day was a couple days after my birthday and so the build up to it was more anxious than usual but Alhamdulillah I got better grades than I expected (I got AABD for all those wondering).
- September
The month the holidays came to an end and college started again which meant the 'back to school series' returned for a 2nd year on my blog. September is always a bit of an awkward month because you start school, college or university again but it's never full-on work until October.
- October
I did a Amazon haul on my blog which seemed to go down a storm with more pageviews on that post than I originally anticipated.
- November
All I can say about November is that it was a kind of 'two birds with one stone' as I collaborated with not one but 2 companies this month which were 'Zidouri Clothing' and 'Eventbrite' which was unbelievable.
- December
A las the last month of 2016 and also the Christmas holidays. We took another trip to London in celebration for my sisters 20th birthday which was so fun! From Winter Wonderland to Harrods and then dining at Meat&Co which was so delicious!
This year has been even more incredible than the last, more memories were made, more tears wept and lots more laughter! 2017 has already started out as a great year and I expect it to be no less than 2016.

I'm back better than ever with my blog, sure exam stress took its toll but in all honesty we all need a break from time to time! From cramming last minute revision to actually doing my exams I can now say that that 'i'm exam free baby'. Advice to future self: DON'T leave revision to the last month! Personally education comes first for me and then blogging. Why's that? Blogging for me flows freely and doesn't require much thought & planning while on the other hand college does only making it right for me to devote my time & effort solely to that.
So where am I heading with this you ask? Well the answer is I'm not entirely sure but I can tell you this I will be posting more frequently on my blog since exams have come & gone. I also have new posts planned contrary to what I mentioned above so stay tuned! I really want to change the layout of my blog too but nothing drastically different because I'm quite content with how it is at the moment.
Two last things; How did you exams go? My exams were do-able that's one way to put it but I guess we'll only really know on Results Day and that's months away! Lastly how is Ramadan going for everyone? We're 5 fasts in unbelievably and I can already say they're going incredibly quick!
This past 2015 has been incredible I've had the opportunity to spend more quality time with friends & family, work with amazing brands, travel the world and have my blog read by over 10 countries which just makes me realise how lucky and fortunate I am! Here's my year in reflection, also the reason why this is going up in February is because it's my 'ONE YEAR BLOG ANNIVERSARY'!
+ January
The month where the New Year resolutions started rolling in like drinking more water, which I actually did so I'm just a little proud of myself. It was also the month where becoming a blogger was something I constantly thought about and here I am a year down the line with over 7400 views.
+ February
This is the month I finally decided to launch my blog after years and years of planning but always being too afraid to publish it. I couldn't be happier with my blog, I love my layout it's minimal & effortless. I've had some amazing opportunities with my blog from working directly with brands to promoting their incredible products on here!
+ March
I published my first ever review on my blog, if you were wondering what it was on it was on the Head & Shoulders Thickening treatment! It wasn't amazing but we all have to start somewhere right? Sometimes I go back right to my first blog post (and cringe for a bit!) and see how drastically my photos have changed and improved (thankfully).
+ April
The month leading up to exams I remember how anxious everyone was including myself! I still watched all my TV series whilst revising I liked to think of it more as multitasking and I still managed to come out with good grades! I mean I can't agree with people who physically deprive themselves of everything if I was to do that I probably wouldn't have revised at all.

Exam month! That's all I remember May as being, a month packed with sleepless nights & early mornings trying to cram that extra bit of revision in. And then there was Prom. Why was prom before our exams that I will never understand nevertheless it was still a blast! It was also exam leave which meant it was the last few weeks left of Secondary school which was actually kind of sad!
+ June
This month was all about taking those last exams, especially my Electronics exam which seemed to drag as it was on the 22nd of June. Along with last minute holiday shopping and packing our suitcases to make sure we had bought everything we needed to travel with.
+ July
The month we flew to India and conquered the Taj Mahal, Red Fort and the City palace in a number of days. It was also the first time we as a family spent Eid abroad with other relatives which truly was a whole other experience but it was still fun!
+ August
My first ever trip to Dubai! It was a memorable experience from the shopping, to visiting the Dubai Aquarium, the Zoo, riding a camel, along with Ferrari World & seeing the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. It was also my birthday which I luckily spent with my close friends & family.
+ September
College finally started! Yes I got lost sometimes and yes it was a STRUGGLE picking out outfits for every day of the week, but here I am still alive & only a few months away from exams which scares me!
+ October
The birthday month of my two closest friends in the entire world! I love planning and shopping for presents when it's someone's birthday. Yes I am one of those people who colour coordinate wrapping presents and go for a particular 'theme'.
+ November
This was probably the most exciting month for me in terms of blogging and by that I mean I was contacted by Burt's Bees and given the opportunity to work with them by collaborating with them on their Christmas Gift Guide 2015!
+ December
The month leading up to Christmas and 2016 which still seems a little unreal, I mean honestly where did the year go? I was also given the opportunity to work with Mai Couture one of the most unique companies ever with their bomb-ass products.
I just want to thank everyone for making this year awesome, I've had some incredible opportunities and experiences which I wouldn't change for the world! 2016 has a lot to live up to!

Exams are literally days away but it's still never too late to cram that extra bit of revision in. I've gathered 5 school related items I cannot work without! These are items that have helped me survive this year and stay on top of all this exam stress.
Number 1 on my list is my trusty old refill pad, this lined notebook is literally my holy grail for revision. You can never have too many notebooks, over this year I have repurchased this product several times because it's great for making notes and it saves you time from hole punching the paper. What more could you possibly you want from a notebook?
Second on my list is pens, revision without pens or some sort of writing material is impossible. Personally I prefer your standard 'black ball point' pen and not those fancy ink pens as they tend to bleed a lot - or maybe I'm just using them wrong. Pens are also something you can never have too many of not only for school but for those times when your in urgent need of a pen to fill in a form or to write someone's number down ( trust me we've all been there!)
I like printing my notes out so I can actually read and use them. I mean how many times have you made notes but not even taken a second glimpse at them simply because your handwriting it too messy and unreadable. My solution for that would be to print your notes out and buy a binder with plastic wallets. They hold your notes neatly as well as other documents giving your work that professional touch making you twice as more likely to actually use them.
Ever rummaged through your bag in hope in finding a calculator for Math or Science class but failed to locate one simply because you forgot it at home. From GCSE level and onwards a scientific calculator is mandatory for calculations. It may seem like something you really don't need to carry but when it comes to sitting your exam and not having one can be quite frustrating especially if it's a Maths exam - so ALWAYS carry one.
My last must-have for school revision would be coloured pens. Now I don't know whether it's a psychological thing or straight up crazy but coloured pens do really help in remembering key elements of certain topics. By colour coding certain aspects your condensing your information in to an amount that can actually be remembered and recalled.
