This is my attempt at casual chic, a blazer with a Levi's t-shirt and a pair of dark denim straight legged jeans and a pair of trainers of course. This is a very monochrome outfit focusing more on the darker colours with pops of white. This blazer can be dressed up with a pair of black skinny jeans and a blouse or worn more casually with a black sweatshirt and trousers.
Autumn and the lead up to Winter have to be my favourite seasons when it comes to fashion, there's so many options to choose from and the chunky knitwear & boots come out!
1. dark wash jeans
Darker denim is a must for the transition between summer and autumn for the lead up to winter. Treat darker denim like your beloved pair of black jeans, pair them with neutrals, blacks and whites. While I adore a classic pair of light denim jeans, admittedly I love my darker denim.
2. white shirt
I have always been a big fan of the 'button down white shirt', it can be worn casually with a pair of jeans or a little more smarter with some fitted trousers. Statement white shirts are also perfect for wearing by themselves or layering up with jumpers.
3. knitted jumpers
Does anyone else get overly excited that it is finally going to be 'sweater weather'? And that you can basically live in jumpers for the rest of winter because me too! A jumper tucked into a pair of trousers or layered with a shirt is my go-to for the A/W season, not only is it practical but it allows you to layer up if you're cold or take layers off.
4. an aviator jacket
You see this style of jacket pretty much everywhere in different colours in different textures. I love wearing an all-black outfit finished off with this jacket, it's super warm too.
5. a good pair of boots
I live in boots during the colder months and they look rather cute too. Black boots can be paired with anything and are perfect for adding a little something to your outfit.
This Leopard print coat has been my saviour for this in-between awkward transition between Autumn and Winter because it is thick enough to keep you warm. Personally leopard print is going to be huge this year and I think it goes great with an all-black outfit or even good pair of denim jeans.
+ Boots - Faux suede buckled boots
After purchasing these in March and constantly longing for months to wear these, its finally appropriate to wear boots but to be quite frank you could get away with wearing boots all year round especially with the weather in Britain that never fails to disappoint.
+ Cosy Knits - Bright blue jumper
I do not want to take this jumper off, ever! I adore the colour of this jumper and the chunky knit, it is absolutely gorgeous. It's a great way to keep warm while making a statement during the Winter season.
+ Darker Denim - Skinny Jeans I love the transition from lighter wash denim to darker denim. Jeans are great you just put them on and you're good to go. For the colder months I opt for a classic skinny jean with the occasional boyfriend jean. Instagram | Twitter | BlogLovin'
With University almost around the corner along with Autumn, what better time to introduce a few new pieces into your wardrobe then now? September in England is basically when Summer comes to a halt and the rain starts pouring again, not that it ever really stopped! Nonetheless I could not be more excited for Autumn and Winter just because the food is better, the fashion is better and who doesn't want to just cosy up with a hot chocolate? I've got aZaful review and this time it's their clothes and not just accessories.
Now I already mentioned these in my Zaful wishlist and I am so glad I chose them, I mean they're distressed, embroidered and super cute. They are a little big for me but there is nothing a sewing machine cannot fix! I love the embroidery and how it goes across the entire leg and around the back, the only thing I have to say is that the embroidery in the picture on their website is a little more red and orange toned but in reality it's more of a subdued orange.
This is probably my favourite top I own right now, I've wanted a cami lace top for the longest time so I could wear it on top of a t-shirt. It looks so good layered on top of a turtle neck. The colour is gorgeous and is made really well, the straps seem really strong, the only downside is that the straps are non-adjustable.
These are so badass and they have the coloured stone I adore the most, emerald green. These are great to add a little edge to an all black outfit. I love the spikes and the coloured crystals and they are definitely a statement earring.
I find it unbelievable as to how we are only a few weeks away from exams, well me anyway I know that several people have exams this month to which I wish you all the best. I'm not going to lie blogging and doing exam revision is a bit of handful however, I have a number of posts planned so hopefully it'll all go swiftly. For this month I have more accessories to show you simply because I'm a creature of habit when it comes to clothes as much as I love wearing statement pieces there's nothing easier than just pairing a shirt with jeans especially for Spring.
+ H&M Blue wash Denim Jeans
I have not stopped wearing these blue jeans ever since the weather got a tad bit better, they fit perfectly and look good paired with pretty much anything. A good pair of skinny fit blue jeans is a staple.
+ Coloured bracelets
In the warmer months I love layering bracelets because they add a pop of colour and just a little something to your outfit. These crystal ones are my favourite and I've also mentioned them here.
+ Red and Pink Tassle bag
I recently mentioned this in my How to Style Mini bags blog post, this has quickly become my go-to bag for when I want to carry the bare minimum: my phone, wallet and maybe a lipstick. I actually DIY'ed this bag by adding the tassels on making it super trendy.
+ Nip & Fab Highlighter & Eyeshadow Palette
You guys already know how much I love both these palettes, they've quickly become part of my everyday make up routine. Both the products are easy to blend and unbelievable pigmented. They have to be my favourite products from the Nip & Fab makeup launch.
This is a typical college outfit for those days where it's cold and all you want to do is cosy up in a warm chunky knit cardigan. Now I know I have not done a outfit post in what seems like over 2 months but the weather has been all kinds of dreary. With it being too cold to even step outside in attempt to get some decent outfit photos where my scarf isn't windswept off my face or where my cardigan is blowing behind me in the wind. Despite the weather having more mood swings than your average girl on her period here's a long awaited outfit post. My checked shirt is from Zara I've hauled it before over here and I paired it with my boyfriend jeans. To finish off this 'oh so basic-look' I threw on this comfy cardigan, a pair of Nike Roshe Runs and a black scarf. Instagram | Twitter | BlogLovin'
When was the last time I did an outfit related post you ask? Chances are it was a century ago. With coursework deadlines right around the corner along with tying loose ends of my UCAS application for University it's fair to say that college has gotten the better of me.
Here's my outfit details, I paired this white knitted jumper with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans. It's great for those days where it's cold enough for a jumper but not enough to layer with coats & jackets. To accessorise this oh-so-basic look I wore my New Look patent loafers with a grey chiffon scarf and this faux leather black tote bag from H&M.
This past weekend was spent scowering the net for cool embroidered patch designs along with endlessly searching the web for employment opportunities. Can someone just give me a job already? Nevertheless I succeeded in one of those two things, the patches obviously! Patches have been everywhere from jackets to shirts and now jeans, they've been a huge trend this summer, a trend I wish to divulge in to even further.
I've put together a rather simple outfit literally a pair of jeans and 1/100 white blouses but these little patches add an edge of playfulness it was missing before making it great for the summer time. If you're a little too lazy to make your own then simply purchase them I know ASOS do a great deal.
They're perfect for adding a little 'something something' to your outfit! I love the way they look pinned on the side of a pair of blue denim jeans near the pocket. The great thing about these embroidered patches is that there's pins attached to the back of them so if I was to get bored of the trend or even where I've put them then I can just take them off. So it's just one less thing to commit to in the long-term.
Here's a little close up of how the embroidered patches turned out, they're pretty neat if I should say so myself and it always helps to draw out the template before hand just to make it a tad bit easier.
So I thought I would switch it up a bit by posting more fashion related content on my blog. This is part of my 'Back to School Series' so be sure to check out my previous blog posts for more tips and tricks for back to school!
Here's an outfit I wore a few days ago which is perfect for college or just casual days out. It may be causal but it looks well put together (if I must say so myself). I paired this white shirt from Matalan with a pair of blue denim jeans.
I absolutely adore the lace trim at the bottom it really gives an added touch to the white shirt. I then paired this outfit with these black lace up shoes with a tan bottom.
