Pupillage Fair | King's College London

11:29 am

I attended the Bar Council Pupillage Fair a few days ago in King's College London. A recruitment fair, organised by the Bar, for budding barristers. There were several informative sessions throughout the day lead by barristers and QCs for individuals to attend and ask any questions. There were also CV and application clinics allowing individuals to spend a generous amount of time going through them with a barrister on a 1-to-1 basis. This was extremely useful as I was able to highlight my strengths, add to them if necessary or even consider removing some information. Over 70 chambers attended all specialising in several areas of law, the commercial and chancery sets are what attracted me the most and I was able to ask about any mini pupillages they offer as well as addressing any queries I had about life at the commercial bar.

If you are a final year law student planning on studying the Bar Professional Training Course then you already know that it is going to be stressful but also exciting. With the deadlines of the Inns of Court scholarships closing tonight the portal for the BPTC will be opening shortly. Attending legal fairs and events can be incredibly reassuring knowing that you are not the only one without an unnecessary amount of legal experience and how you can go about gaining that experience or seeking alternatives. Here are a few photos from my day in London for the pupillage fair, we then decided to go golfing and ride the cable cars.
