We headed to London for Yusaira's 19th birthday and it was sweet! Breakfast, the first meal spent in Dishoom we all ordered the 'Kejriwal' a classic fried-eggs-on-toast kinda situation with their tea of course. Covent Garden, an embodiment of Instagram perfection at its finest, it's practically covered in flowers from flower walls, to flower covered bicycles and benches too. We visited the Ordinary and to my surprise it was a lot smaller than originally imagined but then again most shops in Covent Garden are little boutiques with just enough space for a handful of people. Our next stop was Oxford Street for nothing other than shopping and food. Late lunch/ early dinner was spent in Burgeri, a must for anyone who likes burgers. The last hour was spent in Carnaby, another area adorned in flowers and admirable street art.
Yet another long awaited Saturday spent walking endlessly around the streets of London. We spent the morning in Dishoom for breakfast again and then headed straight for Westfield. Just outside was our lunch reservation at Meat&Co for 1pm, despite the 45 minute wait for our food the whole dining experience was incredible, the ribs were to die for! As it started to get dark we headed for Harrods to capture the true essence of what London is like during the Christmas Season. We then hurried for our booking at Sky Gardens just to get a glimpse of what London looks like 36 floors up surround by gorgeous greenery. It was a shame that it started pouring it down towards the end because it meant that Winter Wonderland was cut short.
The past Saturday was spent roaming the streets of central London with the girls! The buildings & architecture are to die for and so we couldn't help but take a few or maybe even 100 photos. Thankfully the weather was warm and all kinds of sunny, albeit there was a slight drizzle for a split second or so.
This is what I wore on the day I wanted to wear something comfortable but still quite casual. The shirt is from Zara along with the faux-croc burgundy bag. My knitted cardigan is from H&M, the patent loafers are from New Look and lastly my jeans are from Primark.
For breakfast we decided to head to Dishoom, considering our early start to the day breakfast was very much needed to help fuel the rest of our day. The interior was so lavish from the dark almost mahogany-style wood to the gold railings and leather seats. The food was just as nice I opted for the ever so classic chargrilled toast with a selection of jams.
Our first planned visitation was to the National Gallery which again has incredible architecture work and huge displays of paintings and art. I loved how calm the atmosphere was when we visited all you could hear is slight whisper and the patter of people's shoes walking from room to room.
Here's a snippet of the ever-so detailed interior from the painted arches to the marble pillars all encrusted with jewel toned paint. The lighting in some of the rooms was a little darker than others but in all honesty it added to the atmosphere.
This is a painting I managed to capture on my phone without anyone standing in front of it, I love the simplicity of the painting along with the colours. There was a whole array of art from portraits of people to more landscape type art.
I was more than delighted in discovering this room which was pretty much a basic room covered in black marble it was just beyond beautiful. I took its full advantage by taking lots of photos and managed to get this shot of my bag.
We then headed to Camden market in search for some mouth dribbling food and we stumbled upon cute stalls all offering something unique. These pancakes were fluffy and everything a good pancake should be which is covered in chocolate and heavily dusted with icing sugar.
Our last stop for the day was at Vapiano's who are well known for their delicious pasta. Despite the queue we had to wait over half-an-hour for we finally got our food. Now I say queue because unlike other food places where you usually wait for a waiter to bring your food here you wait in line while the chefs make the food from scratch in front of you giving you a whole other experience.
